New ASHRAE standard details healthcare ventilation requirements:

September 17, 2008

A new ventilation standard for healthcare facilities aims to improve environmental and infection control concerns in hospitals.

Written by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers and the American Society for Healthcare Engineering, Standard 170-2008, Ventilation of Healthcare Facilities looks at:

  • Ventilation systems and equipment
  • Space ventilation for isolation rooms, critical care units, burn units, surgery rooms, and operating rooms
  • Planning, construction, and system start-up

The standard also falls under the umbrella of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and as such is the first ANSI standard to specifically discuss ventilation in healthcare settings, according to ASHRAE.

MTA CONDUCTS ALL VENTILATION TESTING UNDER THE MOST CURRENT ASHRAE STANDARDS & REQUIREMENTS.
